Vehicle Return
The terms and conditions of the StateFleet Leasing Arrangement require that vehicles must be returned to StateFleet (or its nominated agent) on the lease end date or most practicable date thereafter.
It is the Client's responsibility to ensure that vehicles are returned to auction, or in the case of StateFleet managed Clients, that StateFleet is contacted to arrange for the transportation of the vehicle to auction.
A vehicle must not be left with a Motor Vehicle Dealer unless there is an agreement between the Dealer and the Client and the Client notifies StateFleet directly that the vehicle is available for collection.
Tips on vehicle return
- Our managed Clients have it easy… by simply completing an Application for Transportation to Auction form, StateFleet will arrange for the collection and transportation of the vehicle to auction.
- Completing the Auction Advice Form and placing it in a prominent position in the vehicle, will advise the auctioneer that it is a StateFleet vehicle and ensure that the sale proceeds are forwarded to StateFleet.
- Sending the Service Book, Spare Keys and other vehicle accessories with the vehicle will improve the resale value of the vehicle. A vehicle with a fully documented service and maintenance history will instill confidence in the prospective buyer that he/she is buying a quality vehicle. Further, a vehicle complete with spare keys, spare wheel, jack and tools will provide for more competitive bidding in a market of similar type vehicles.
- Finally, check the interior of the vehicle, including the boot to ensure that all personal (or Agency owned) items have been removed. Items commonly found in vehicles include office or home keys, ID cards, mobile phones, CD's, and sunglasses. If an etag is attached to the vehicle, remember to remove it.
